Welcome To The Adirondack Mountain & Stream Blog!

We’ve always believed that time spent in the Adirondacks shouldn’t be limited to just the days you’re out on the water, in the woods, or around a campfire with us—it should carry with you long after the trip ends. That’s exactly why we’re excited to introduce the Adirondack Mountain & Stream Blog. This new space on our website is something we’ve been looking forward to building for a long time—a place where we can share the knowledge, stories, and hard-earned lessons that come from decades of guiding right here in the Adirondack Park.

The blog will be a constantly evolving resource, packed with practical tips, useful techniques, and real-world advice that anyone can use—whether you’re a seasoned outdoorsman or just getting your boots muddy for the first time. We’ll be diving into everything from campfire cooking techniques that turn a simple meal into something unforgettable, to the ins and outs of canoe camping—how to pack, plan, and travel efficiently through backcountry waters. Expect breakdowns on fishing strategies across the seasons, insights into hunting in the Adirondacks, and advice on everything from car camping setups to paddling techniques that make your time on the water smoother and more enjoyable.

A big part of what we want to do with this blog is take the experience of a guided trip and bring pieces of it to you, wherever you are. Not everyone can be out with us every weekend—but that doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from the same knowledge we share with our clients every day. Whether it’s learning how to read water for trout, building a better campfire, choosing the right gear, or understanding how to move quietly through the woods during hunting season, this will be a place where you can continue to learn, improve, and stay connected to the outdoors.

We’ll also be sharing stories from the field—real trips, real conditions, and real experiences from our guides and Adirondack Mountain & Stream Team Members. The Adirondacks have a way of teaching lessons you can’t always find in a manual, and we want to capture that. Some posts might be instructional, others might just be a good story from a long day on the lake or a cold morning in deer camp—but all of it will come from genuine time spent out there doing what we love.

At the end of the day, this blog is for anyone who feels that pull toward the Adirondacks. Whether you’re planning your next trip, learning new skills, or just looking to stay connected to the woods and water between adventures, we hope this becomes a place you come back to often. And of course, when you’re ready to take that next step and experience it all firsthand, we’ll be here to get you out there.
